Our first literary riso print

When we launched Eleven Books & Books a few months ago, we promised to introduce some other book-related projects that we’ve been working on.

One of the ideas we wanted to bring to life was a combination of quotes from books that we find inspiring with original art. We approached our friend Berenika Polomová who is a talented artist and the result of our collaboration is the first Eleven B&B literary print.

We selected Henry David Thoreau and one of the lesser known quotes from his classic Walden; or, Life in the Woods, first published in 1854.

“Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth.”
― Henry David Thoreau, Walden

As Thoreau himself was a great proponent of the joys of living simply and in accordance with nature, we were aiming for a graphical representation evoking simplicity and harmony.

The risograph printing method adds a vintage feel and makes each print an original. Each of the 50 prints is numbered and signed by Berenika.

Our first literary print is ready. We hope it will remind you to enjoy all the seasons (not just the holiday season) more…
